Jin Jun Mei tea, belonging to the Lapsang Souchong branch of black tea, originated from Tongmu Village, Wuyishan City, Fujian Province. It is a new variety of black tea developed in 2005 by Jiang Yuanxun, the twenty-fourth generation of Lapsang Souchong black tea heirloom, leading a team based on the traditional craftsmanship through innovative fusion. The reason why Jinjunmei is so valuable is because the whole process is handmade by tea masters. Each 500g of Jinjunmei requires tens of thousands of fresh tea bud tips, picked from the original small breed of fresh tea buds in the Wuyi Mountain Nature Reserve in the high mountains, then after a series of complex withering, shaking the green, fermentation, kneading, and other processing steps to be completed. Jinjunmei is a rare treasure among teas, with a small and compact shape, accompanied by golden yellow tea fluff, golden soup color, and refreshing mouthfeel.
